The Koolforlife Pyramid Jean Jacket features artwork originally created by Rashida Cotton, an artist based in Baltimore. Years ago, I asked Rashida to help bring my vision for the Koolforlife logo to life. After sharing the elements and meaning behind what I wanted the pyramid to represent, she presented several concepts — and this design stood out immediately.
The final logo incorporates the Eye of Ra within the pyramid and was translated onto this jacket using a Direct-to-Garment (DTG) printing process, allowing the artwork to retain its detail, symbolism, and visual impact on wearable denim.
While the jacket itself is not hand-painted, the DTG process preserves the clarity and depth of the original artwork, creating a clean, art-quality finish.
The Meaning Behind the Design
The Koolforlife pyramid represents the ancient history, knowledge, and power created by Black and Brown people. The Eye of Ra symbolizes awareness, protection, and higher understanding.
This logo is a reminder of the magical melanin energy that exists within our communities — an energy rooted in creativity, resilience, and transformation. That energy has the power to change lives, shift perspectives, and impact the world.
This jacket stands as a symbol of heritage, identity, and collective strength.
